"According to the military, at 3 a.m. local time Wednesday, coalition Earlier in the day, a US General was inerviewed and he made the statement about celebratory rifle fire. Middle of he day, story changed to a couple of hundred US troops descended on the house immediately after the helicopter fired into the crowd and found "foreign pasports, money, and other suspicous documents" End of the day, "the military launched a large, coordinated attack against a known safe house." Hard to get a handle on this one. I heard the military spokesman interviewed on the radio today, after the final version of events was put forward. He speculated that the "cunning enemy" had deliberately murdered all the women and children included in the body count to make the US look bad. No mater how it slices, things are not improving rapidly in Iraq. :-( |
