Idiot, when and where did I say that Mill Valley was in Pa or Ga??????
Your senility is showing again! I lived in the Bay Area for almost 2
totally miserable years. Yuck. People swarming like damned killer bees,
horrible traffic, dry as hell, too many people with their collective
noses in the air, and that air is horribly polluted, have to be careful
where you drive, you might get car-jacked or killed for whatever
pittance is in your wallet, and the list goes on. Been going to
Richmond lately to participate in the killings that happen therer
almost daily? Another fun thing, take BART to a Raiders game, instead
of getting off the train and walking to the stadium, take a
left....nice place, huh? The only good thing that came out of the Bay
Area, other than my wife and in-laws (some of them, anyway) is Casper's
hot dogs. Well, there are some good eats in S.F. proper, and a place in
Lafayette that has a hell of a brunch.

The one time I was in San Francisco, we drove in during the morning rush
hour from our motel in Redwood City. That was a mistake. I was scared
almost ****less driving the rental car. Everyone was driving at
breakneck speed bumper to bumper. If I showed down a smidge to allow
some stopping distance between me & the guy in front...some other
jackass would quickly dart into the space making it even more dangerous.
I prayed I was in the right lane...didn't have much chance to look at
road signs. As we got into the city and stopped at an intersection, a
yahoo driving an old van across our lane of traffic, jumped out with a
tire iron in his hand and started chasing the guy two cars up from us
around the vehicles. I decided it would be better to park at a garage
and take sightseeing boat/bus trips. Picked a garage under a major
hotel. That night when we arrived back to pick up the rental, the
parking garage refused to take the 'money orders' I was carrying as
payment. He advised me to go up to the hotel and cash them in there.
When I got up to the hotel front desk, they refused and told me it
wasn't their problem. I was getting desperate then...I made the biggest
fuss I could in their front lobby...and after a couple of different
managers came down to see what the fuss was about, one finally told the
money guy to cash the minimal I needed so I could be on my way.
I enjoyed my one day in Frisco up till then but was damn glad to be out.
To make matters worse...that was the year they decided to overhaul the
cable cars.
