Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt told a news conference the substance had been found in an artillery shell inside a bag discovered by a U.S. convoy a few days ago. The round had exploded, causing a small release of the substance, he said. 1. We have no idea where this bit of sarin originated. It could have come from ebay. 2. What is interesting is that the Iraqi insurgents are now using this against US troops, but Saddam didn't. I would say that "that" is is the important fact, and demonstrates what we are in for as long as we maintain ourselves as the invaders of Iraq. Saddam truly believed that there'd be an eleventh hour deal brokered by the French or Russians...and if he could hide his weapons until the heat dropped a little, he'd escape with his hidden weapons intact. Obviously, the al Qaeda terrorists have stumbled across the hidden WMD before we did. Or they've brought 'em back from Syria (the place where they were sent before the war). 3. A bit of sarin is hardly a WMD. Depends upon if you're upwind or downwind after a sarin-filled munition is detonated, eh? |
