Most handles have either leather, rubber or plastic to provide better grip. They don't rust. I found over 100,000 hits recommending a light coat of oil or WD40 as an effective way to protect tools. Read and LEARN, if you're capable: (notice SOLVENT not OIL...) 4. THE CARE OF HAND TOOLS Hand tools are used every day on a construction site They are used so much and so often that the proper care is many times forgotten. As we list some important points on proper care of hand tools please refresh your memory concerning these points Proper Care of Tools 1. Take good care of tools. Use tools carefully and you will have less need for a first-aid kit. 2. Keep tools clean. Protect them against damage from corrosion. Dip tools occasionally in cleaning fluids or solvents and wipe them clean. Lubricate adjustable and moving parts to prevent wear and misalignment. |

Kevin once again projects his own shortcomings by accusing others of
'stalking' "Dan Krueger" wrote in message ink.net... Here's the Kevin Noble "clip of the day". This is unedited: Dan Krueger wrote: Nice, KEVIN. Another one for the file. I'm sure Earthink and you differ on the definition of stalking, KEVIN since that was the first time I emailed you. This is a reply to your email so don't even bother, KEVIN. Kevin Noble wrote: I'm not Kevin, stalker. I didn't reply. I'm not going to get into a debate with a child who can't configure his email settings to match his newsgroup settings. Do you realize that even Harry thinks you are an idiot. Even your hero oils
his tools to prevent rust. wrote in message ups.com... Real Name wrote: Kevin, Take a deep breath and hold it .............. now slowly let the air out, slowly counting to 10. Do you feel better now. Most handles have either leather, rubber or plastic to provide better grip. They don't rust. I found over 100,000 hits recommending a light coat of oil or WD40 as an effective way to protect tools. I"m not Kevin, but: That's odd, I've got many, many pairs of pliers that DON'T have "leather, rubber, or plastic" on them. None of my four pairs of vicegrips do, either. My 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drive ratchets? Nope. Look at Craftsman's website. How many of their open end, combination, or box wrenches have "leather, rubber, or plastic" on them? Now, you claim that it's good for your tools to put oil or wd40 on them? Do you realize that those hydrocarbon based products will actually degrade plastic and rubber? Let's see your search results that recommend oiling your tools. Working parts of those tools, fine. But not "coating" your tools with oil, as you've suggested. I've got tools that were my uncles when he was an aviation mechanic during WWII. They've never, ever been coated with oil, and are in perfect shape. Again, you do know that a liquid that is viscous enough to stay on the tool, will also hold sand and dirt? Again, do you realize that dirt and sand are abrasive? Do you realize what a few grains of sand will do to a nice pair of diagonal cutters? |

![]() I wonder why atl_man2 uses knoble's gmail account and lists his name in his email name as Kevin Noble. We will never figure this out. ; ) I guess YOU won't, anyhow. It's quite simple, actually. You see, it's the typical lemming syndrome. Someone (JoeTechnician) made a statement about me in error. And then more and more bought into the error, and hell, if that's what all of you pig-pilers want to believe, ****ing have at it. BUT, rest assured, all of you lemmings are WRONG!!!!! Too funny Kevin. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: 25 Fish Later Date: Tue, 5 Jul 2005 06:14:54 -0700 (PDT) From: Kevin Noble To: Dan Krueger |
