Default Easy to use skirt for Dagger Redline?

IR has a nice skirt that is easier to put on - as it is a shocker
style, rather than randed.

Mountain Surf is now making a shocker as well -
the G-Skirt. and the basic G-Skirt

I don't think you will go wrong with either one.

Looking for another skirt to use on my Redline, one that replaces

play with the kiddies, and would like something easier to use than the
skirt I have now. Still want to be able to roll, deflect paddle blows
from 9 year olds, etc. so touring units are out. Suggestions please?

Large keyhole, if that matters.

I've got a couple I picked up cheap at Sierra Trading Post. One's a
Camaro, the other's a Nookie. Made of a softer neoprene than Mtn Surf
or Harmony.

Huh? Why would a touring skirt inhibit your ability to roll be unable to
deflect paddle blows.

In calm water with only one or two assailants, no worries.

But when surrounded by a flotilla of youth in canoes, jon boats and
rafts, all of whom are focused with single minded intensity upon
upending one ~40 year old in a kayak, the requirement exists for
something a little more secure.

Okay. I'm still wondering why you think a spray skirt for a touring kayak
would be less secure than a whitewater skirt. Granted, the kevlar
reinforced skirts on the market these days might provide greater abrasion
resistance but there are lots of neopreme skirts for touring kayaks that
have to stand up to significant abuse. Touring kayaks are not always
paddled in fla****er. Even our local lake can 2-3 breaking wind waves
fairly often and having a skirt implode while attempting a surf landing in
4'+ breaking waves or dealing with a 6-8' rogue wave offshore requires a
skirt every bit as secure as one you'd put on a whitewater boat. Rolling a
touring kayak with a leaky skirt isn't much fun either.

Snapdragon makes good skirts for whitewater kayaks that's easy to put on.
They have various designs to chose from. Go to

Yeah, as long as you don't get a "Riot-specific" skirt for your Riot boat! I
know, cause I did and that sucker was just impossible to get on the boat!!!
Too damned tight! :-(

I don't see a "Riot specific" skirt made by Snapdragon on their web site and
didn't know they made one. Which one is it?

Hey, Courtney, I saw yer pitcher in Leland's new book, which arrived in
my mailbox on Wednesday!

Can't wait to see Leland and tell him how wonderful the book[1] is.
Most beautifully illustrated guidebook I've ever seen.

-Richard, His Kanubic Travesty

[1] for those who don't know, Leland Davis is a prominent Asheville
hairboater who teaches creeking clinics up and down the Appalachians.
His book, which leans strongly to the Class IV/V end of the spectrum
but identifies a few IIs and IIIs, is "North Carolina Rivers & Creeks",
from Brushy Mountain Publications.

I had no idea I was in one of his books. Are you sure it's me? I haven't
lived in the southeast for 5 years since moving to the northwest and never
gave him a picture or had one taken of me that I'm aware of unless it's one
from one of the rodeo's. What's the name of the book so I can take a look?
Do you know if it's on the shelves yet at the stores?

Never mind. I just found out that my husband had been talking with Leland
and sent him some photo's. That explains it.
