As a follow up to my post, the local marina guys looked at the honda. They
say there is no spark to the engine. This was the message left on the phone to me. Does this mean bad plugs or something else? Anyone know what something like this will cost? An authorized Honda mechanic is coming, but not until next week. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Dan |

No way to know.
Could be the kill switch not making contact. Could be any one of a number of electrical parts. Hopefully he does not get into part swaping but rather knows what he is doing and has the equipment to verify parts are good or bad. Will be at least one hour labor plus the trip cost. Minimum of $100 labor -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com - "Dan J.S." wrote in message ... As a follow up to my post, the local marina guys looked at the honda. I would recommend you be there with him when he shows up. Don't bug him w/
a bunch of questions and talk as that will make the time and labor cost go up. Rather, you want to verify that any parts he swaps are actually bad and correct the problem. Replacing a stator without verifying outputs are not there is a definite sign he is guessing what the problem is. -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com - "Dan J.S." wrote in message ... However, the mechanic has 15 years of experience with Honda engines and has a very good reputation. Nice of them to come to the dock and fix it there. It would be a total pain for me to trailer it up to him. Thanks for all the suggestions and tips. |
