I've been meaning to ask this: Is a 3/8" galvanized shackle as strong as the
3/8" chain? Also, would a 3/8 SS shackle be stronger and suitable for anchoring long term? How about the SS shackle with galvanized chain? -- Keith __ A mathematician is a machine for converting coffee into theorems. "Steve" wrote in message ... Measure the nomial dia. of the pin above the thread. Also the pin thread will normally be a standard thread size/pitch (although, more difficult to measure). The shackle it'self will usually be of the same dia. round stock as the shackle pin. -- My opinion and experience. FWIW Steve s/v Good Intentions |
