Gould,
Have you ever seem any comedian who has not poked fun at other people or situations? You are one pompous asshole. ****** Well that certainly makes sense. Let's allow comedians to determine what constitutes acceptable behavior. |

I would rather enjoy comedy and laugh, than be so politically correct you
find offense in everything that is said. Comedians have added more value to people than anything a failed used car salesman or failed used boat salesman ever has. Lighten up and enjoy life, blacks have enjoyed making fun of ebonics as much as anyone. Blacks have enjoy making fun of "white accents", only a loser wouild take offense at a black making fun of a redneck accent or uptight white behavior. My guess is you would be offended wrote in message oups.com... Gould, Have you ever seem any comedian who has not poked fun at other people or situations? you find offense in everything that is said. ************ Never claimed to be offended. Simply noted that when the joke became a framework upon which to hang the names of additional African Americans, it became racist. I even used the inclusive "we" in my remarks. However, I failed to consider the outraged overreaction likely to occur when one strikes an exposed nerve. Y'all do protest too much. |

It wasn't. *You* chose to make it so. Don't try to spin it like you normally do when cornered. |

Spin?
"Spin" is your label for reality when it doesn't suit your agenda. Why would you lie so? Here, again, are the remarks that generated the outraged overreaction from the raw nerves clan: FI-FO-FI FO-FI-FI-FO I always thought that was Jesse Jackson's ******************** This racist thread brought to you by wreck.boats :-( Isn't this where we trot out the Chinese laundry jokes, or the tired old saw about telling a running back that the football is really a watermelon? Will we ever get past dealing in racial stereotypes, or finding then "amusing"? I encountered another personality who likes to use the line "Get a sense of humor" Submitted here for your enjoyment only- and of course it is exempt from criticism (under your own standards) because it's a "joke". http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/war.../evilclown.htm |

Here, again, are the remarks that generated the outraged overreaction from the raw nerves clan: FI-FO-FI FO-FI-FI-FO I always thought that was Jesse Jackson's You forgot these quotes of yours in this thread: "JimH, if you're black then you were merely disrespecting your own ethnicity and not that of someone else. My criticism would still be warranted, but my comment less than accurate if you are black. We have no information upon which to base an assumption that you are white, and it isn't important either way." "So, is it supposed to be funny because we're laughing at the ethnic speech, or because we're laughing at a physical disability?" "And if Mike Tyson were white, it wouldn't *be* a racist joke." "Why not tell one where ol' Rasmus gets an ass full of buckshot stealin' wattamelon? You could defend that by pointing out you noticed a person of color buying watermelon down at the market just the other day." Many more in this thread but those show you found the joke to be racist....which makes *you* the racist. Now spin away Chuck. |
