I especially like the custom stereo installation! Pretty cool huh? :) I've been thinking of installing a Jensen marine radio I have hanging around here in the boat, but I can't quite figure out where to put it. Thinking of the speakers: Are those corner benches in the stern full of flotation stuff, or what? |

Thinking of the speakers: Are those corner benches in the stern full of flotation stuff, or what? Styrofoam. Chock a block full of styrofoam. As is the mid-ships bench and the front half bench - styrofoam. I was thinking of installing the radio in the middle bench, the two 1200 watt amps under the stern shelf and the 12 inch subwoofer under the front bench with speakers along the gunwale. What do you think? Later, Tom |

Install a radar arch :-) Now there is an idea. I could put up a wake boarding tower and double use it as a radar mount!! Then install a radar so you can detect birds and determine water depth...................sorry............couldn 't resist. You know, it is possible to see birds on a radar system, check the range and use a chartplotter to determine what depths are in that area the birds are working. On the C-70 combo display I have on the Ranger, I can punch out to 3/4 to 1 mile height range and see a whole lot of ocean on the GPS and compare it to the radar scan. I can do the same thing on the Contender and while I'm not totally familiar with how to do this, I believe that I can overlay the GPS data on the radar scan too. I think. I really haven't played with that C-120 system all that much this Spring - just enough to make it work. :) I should make it my project in the next day or two to read the manual. What did he say?!?!? Read the manual?!?!?!? I'm not getting into the debate - just pointing it out. :) Later, Tom |

The boat had the Raymarine system with separate displays on the flybridge and a C-120 combo display on the tower. Naturally, I spent some time on the tower (gorgeous day - flat calm water the entire way) and convinced myself that was the way to go. It was a short jump to the C-70 for the Ranger. |
