The fuel pump could be leaking oil. There is a gasket between the fuel pump
and engine block. Make sure the mounting bolts are not loose, then replace the gasket. JIMinFL "ToneJohn" wrote in message ... This is a picture of the part from the mercury site where i'm seeing the fresh oil http://www.mercruiserparts.com/image.../816596/11.png it's on the bottom of the filter and near part 15 & 16. "Woodchuck" wrote in message .. . got-a picture? "ToneJohn" wrote in message ... I have a 94 chaparral with a 350Mag 5.7L. I have noticed today after a day out on the water that there is a small oil leak. I can't seem to pinpoint it exactly but there was fresh oil on the bottom of the fuel filter and also near the fuel line and elbow. Now I'm too familiar with engines... but does oil travel anywhere near those parts? Also if so what is the best way to pin point the leak? It wasn't a leak were i can see it physically coming out and i tried to trace it to something above that but couldn't see any fresh oil. Any help is appreciated.. |
