Hi All,

I am trying to get my boat running. The engine has been sitting for two
years when it was stored (oil in the cylinders and antifreeze in the
block). The engine does not spin with the starter, what is the process to
get it spinning? I pulled out the plugs and they were clean (no rust),
the oil in the engine is clean (no water) and it smells fine. My uncle
says to just put a breaker bar on the balancer and rock it back in forth
until it spins. Is this ok, it seams to me that would be very hard on the
bearings? The engine is an OMC stern drive 260 (1986 Chevy 350).

Besides the other advice, are you sure the starter is working properly?
I'd be thinking the starter would be more likely to seize than the engine.
Just a thought.
