Default mercury verado

Anyone have any experience with the new mercury Verado. Very interesting
motor, inline 6 supercharged 4 stroke outboard up to 275 hp. This is what
should be talked about here, not politics.

A year or so ago, I had the oppotunity through a friend who works in
the marine industry to take a ride on a Hydrasports 25 CC with twin
"mystery" engines - it had a modified Merc cowl on it, but it didn't
act like a Merc. I belive it was the Verado. The engineer wouldn't
let us take the cowl off, but he said that it was going to be
introduced "within a year" - guess what. :)

I was impressed with the engine - quiet, had a terrific acceleration
curve, quiet, smooth as silk shifting and very, very quiet. Full
throttle standing right in front of the engines and you could hold a
normal conversation. The enginer told us that a lot of the sound
baffling engineering work was done in a sound chamber.

If I didn't own almost new FICHTS, I'd buy two in a heart beat.

It has interesting controls, an electronic shift and throttle and has built
in electro-hydraulic power steering.
