Anyone have any experience with the new mercury Verado. Very interesting
motor, inline 6 supercharged 4 stroke outboard up to 275 hp. This is what should be talked about here, not politics. |

A year or so ago, I had the oppotunity through a friend who works in the marine industry to take a ride on a Hydrasports 25 CC with twin "mystery" engines - it had a modified Merc cowl on it, but it didn't act like a Merc. I belive it was the Verado. The engineer wouldn't let us take the cowl off, but he said that it was going to be introduced "within a year" - guess what. :) I was impressed with the engine - quiet, had a terrific acceleration curve, quiet, smooth as silk shifting and very, very quiet. Full throttle standing right in front of the engines and you could hold a normal conversation. The enginer told us that a lot of the sound baffling engineering work was done in a sound chamber. If I didn't own almost new FICHTS, I'd buy two in a heart beat. Later, Tom S. Woodstock, CT ----------- "Angling may be said to be so like the mathematics that it can never be fully learnt..." It has interesting controls, an electronic shift and throttle and has built
in electro-hydraulic power steering. "Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... On Mon, 22 Mar 2004 21:14:07 GMT, "habbi" wrote: Anyone have any experience with the new mercury Verado.
