Please don't make that mistake. That boat does not have a large enough
engine. For water skiing with more than 2 people in the boat, you want to get a V6 engine in an 18' boat. Find a good used on in your area at www.boattraderonline.com. For $10k you should be able to find a fairly new, good reliable boat that will fit your needs. Since you are not familiar with boats, another good piece of advice would be to go down to the local marina/boat launch on a Sat or Sun and talk to the people with boats about dealers, service locations, etc... People with boats, love to talk about boats. You will get some good local advice about who to deal with and who not to deal with. On a used boat, you want to take it to a good repair shop and have them go over it carefully.
