![]() The boat launch at the end of the Texas City Dike is well known for rapid changes in water level due to the ships that come close to shore in that area. I used to live in Texas City and have seen the rapid change in water level that you spoke of. I was windsurfing with a group on one of the beach areas when a group of waves started slamming the shoreline bringing the water level up beyond where our vehicles were parked. This was caused by a tanker that went by miles out in the bay probably 20 to thirty minutes earlier. Don J. |
