Default Info on Doral 1998 270 SC

I am looking to purchase a 98 Doral 270 SC with 7.4 MPI Bravo III drive.
The boat is clean with 208 hrs. Asking price is $45K. It will be used on
the South Shore of Long Island. Any opinions or information regarding this
model would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Joe: I have a 1989 Doral Monticello 27 foot that I purchased new. I
have had no problems at all with this vessel. It has cruised the Great
Lakes every summer and still is like new condition. A very well built boat.
My boat has twin OMC 205 HP engines and they are still very strong. If I
were to sell my boat I would be asking for $47,500.00 and it is a 1989 not a
1998!!!
You should have no trouble at all with the 1998 model and the price is
right!

The average price for this boat is in the $39,000 range.

For reference, the price of a '89 Monticello is around $16,000 with a single
engine or $17,000 with twins. However, with the OMC Cobra drives they are
difficult to sell since many potential buyers will not consider a boat with
this "orphaned" drive.

For "your reference" my 1989 Doral has a new 2003 Raytheon Radar, New
Raytheon Chart plotter, new Ratheon GPS and it also has a sport pilot auto
pilot. It is air-conditioned and has a generator, it has low engine hours
and is in better than new condition. I am not selling it. It is worth
$47, 500 CANADIAN to me! Replacement value for a similar new boat is over
$100,000 CDN.

Again, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. Actually the NADA book
value for the boat as it currently equipped is $40-48K. I negotiated the
boat down to $41K..with 200 hrs, I think that's a fair deal.
