Since we have kept there major predator away from the rookeries, they have exploded in number. Major predator was the coyote. Preyed on the pups. Reply ************** And Orcas. (Killer whales). Orcas think that nothing beats a fresh Sea Lion at breakfast. They also like to play with them. Catch that is. Friend was in the CG on a cutter coming back down the inside passage and got photos of a pod of orcas playing catch with a big sea lion. They would toss the sea lion 20' in the air he stated. But the coyotes got lots more sea lions than orca's me thinks. |
