for customs inspection and buy a decal.

Our borders are a seive, and (especially the Mexican border)
deliberately so. The wages of the poorest 20% of Americans are
artificially deflated by competition from illegal aliens, (willing to
work without benefits, off the clock, and for a fraction of minimum
wage)....thereby saving all employers some money- whether they directly
employ the illegals or not.

I believe that the US will eventually learn from the European
experience and deal with terrorists
as criminals, rather than military agents of the currently-out-of-favor
dictator in whatever country we randomly choose to name. The smoke and
fumes surrounding the crackdown on recreational boaters is a poor
excuse for genuine efforts to control the borders.

Given the truth of what you say, I'm surprised more Democrats aren't pounding
the table to take control of our borders. I think my next vote will go to
whomever will do something about the problem.

last summer, that's not an appealing idea. I might just look into
getting a couple of these I-68s for the next time my family and I go up

Remind me to tell you when I'm less sleepy about the overzealous
near-retirement customs agent we ran into at Friday a couple years back
who threatened to impound our vessels and later to put a negative report
in our "permanent record"...

Heh... My dad had gotten around that little rule for years with the
original paperwork for our Chris showing it as 29' 10".

Fortunately, thus far they haven't been picky about the 30' being LOA...

Keep in mind that EVERYONE aboard needs to have the I-68. Can't take
friends, relatives or neighbors along unless they have an I-68!

It's per person, eh? For some reason, I was under the impression it was
per vessel. My mistake; The former does make more sense...

Make it four instead of a couple. Hmm, maybe we should get one for the
dog, too.
