Those alternators rarely go bad. they don't get enough use for the
bearings to go out. what I have found with them, is that either
they've been submurged and are badly corroded, or the connections to
the unit itself are corroded, or they need a new voltage regulator
installed.

Repair.

it's alot cheaper.
