Is owning a boat a prerequisite to posting in this NG?

There are some non boat owners here who contribute more to this group in a
positive way than many boat owners, including you.

My question is why is SoFarrell using the excuse, "but Dad he did it first".
I thought he told me that was not an acceptable excuse.
