I don't like calling someone a liar, but when the shoe fits... Your
quote is an outright lie.

Really, Jim? Maybe you should expand your horizons beyond salon's cut and
snip. There's a link below. When you're done reading it, you can post an
apology. I accept your apology in advance.

Here's the whole quote as published on February 8th in the Olympian:

Maria Yurasek, who attended a caucus at Spokane's Chase Middle School, said
Dean "reminds me of an old boyfriend. He seems angry. I don't think Dean can
beat Bush. I would vote for a dog if he could beat Bush. I would vote for
Satan."

Salon. OR did you post the Newsmax version?

In Arizona, Judy Donovan says she feels desperate for a new president.
In Tennessee, Robert Wilson says he finds the president revolting. In
Washington state, Maria Yurasek says she'd vote for a dog if it could
beat President Bush.

I need maria's address...i have some extra Tellow Dog Democrat pins.

I guess we can add "Satan worshippers" to the Democratic base of
homosexuals, convicted felons, and sexual deviants.

The party is unifed and focused on delivering the country from the evils
of the neofascist Republicans. Unlike Republicans, Democrats have
diverse opinions on who is best qualifed to wield the sword and slay the
evil dragon (via the political process, of course). The party has tested
its standard bearers and has eliminated all but two serious candidates.
I don't believe anyone ever gave Al Sharpton or Dennis Kucinich much of
a chance.

Jesus, what unconscionable drivel!

The Bush supporters "were more numerous". That's all that really matters.
Screaming louder than the other guys gets you nowhere.

But you forget......

"Gore won the popular vote"! whine, whine "Gore won the popular vote"!

OK -- you found it, and I apologize. BUT perhaps that's the difference
between a liberal and a Bu****e artist. I gave my source up front.

May I point out that the comment origionally posted by you did not
contain this line

Nice try at a CYA though

You know what they say about "assuming" something...so I guess we're both
guilty. You assumed I made up the Satan part...and I assumed you (or Salon)
intentionally snipped it.

Can we now both agree that Salon intentionally snipped it? Apparently, a
"Salon.com" version of a story puts out as much spin as a "Newsmax"
version...except that the political tilt is to the left rather than the
right.

Jeez, NOYB, you've gone to new and lower lows! I realize it's an
election year, and you guys are running scared, but please, get your
head out of your ass.

Ok, Bush won the Presidency. But, he certainly didn't win a mandate
for his extremist policies. There has been no attempt to consider the
desires of the majority of voters who didn't vote for the rascal.

A) I never heard anyone claim that W received a mandate in the election of
2000.

B) W received his mandate on the morning of September 11, 2001.

C) You may consider some or all of his policies "extremist", but that is
your personal opinion, not general fact.

There has been no attempt to consider the
desires of the majority of voters who didn't vote for the rascal.

D) It may have slipped your attention, but we do not live in a democracy,
wherein the voters are consulted on virtually all matters. We live in a
Constitutional Republic. We send elected persons to staff the government
and to make decisions according to their best judgment. If we don't like
their judgment, we vote them out the next time around. This business of
consulting focus groups, or directly polling constituents, prior to any
decision-making, is, in my view, an abdication of responsibility under the
Constitution.

Bull. No one gave Bush carte blanche to go crazy with his brand of
right-wing extremism.
