Default Your Boat Dock

Here is a link to our last marina.

http://www.huronlagoons.com/

I know of at least one NG member who still docks there.

What made the marina especially nice was the drive up feature to your boat,
with a nice strip of grass between your car and your boat. Plenty of room
under a tree for a picnic bench, dock box and chairs.

Here is a picture of some old friends of ours at their dock. They were
perhaps a dozen or so docks away from us.

How many of you have this drive up/grassy area feature at your dock?

Jim, although a small club, and in a very small town, the Port Dover Yacht
Club, Port Dover, Ontario has remarkably similar features. If you belong to
a club that is a member of the ILYA (Inter Lake Yachting Association), PDYC
used to allow a couple of nights free stay and bar/restaurant charges made
automatically to your own club.

Best regards,

Jack

Jack, your Harbour has something else that no other club has and that's the
"Friday 13th" gathering.

That alone is worth the trip to Port Dover on a BMW K1200 R S!

It's a beautiful little harbor with many fine memories. I hear there is
fast-ferry service planned from Erie, PA to Port Dover, possibly as soon as
next year. That'll take some of the "quaint" out of Dover.

Harbour Lights Marina, in Bayfield, has this same feature and it is
fabulous! My picnic table is right by my boat.

Are you pretty well thawed out up there? We had up to 15" of snow this past
weekend on the east end of town, most of which has melted.

It is supposed to be a nice weekend here. I think winter is finally
history, at least according to my neighbor who, just yesterday, put his
snowblower away for the season. ;-)

BTW: We set a record for snowfall this year with 101 inches of snow for the
year.
