does anyone know which oil filter this motor will take?
its a 1984.
someone told me FRAM 6066, but local store only had FRAM 6067 which was
a very small filter...

I would recommend you contact a local mercruiser dealer. He can check your
serial number and give you the correct FRAM Filter.

Go to a different store. There are short and long filters for Chevy's. If
it is no remote, just look up a 1984 chevy filter. Look in the truck
section and they normally use the bigger (longer) can.
