I've read a bunch of threads about people using Portabotes as dinghy's on
sailboats but I haven't seen much discussion about people using Portabotes for "everyday" lake fishing instead of say, a 12' jon boat. Does anyone have any thoughts about Portabotes as a day-to-day boat? -- Marty S. Baltimore, MD USA |

Marty,
I used to have one. I found it very awkward to live with. It is an engineering compromise that is best suited to those who MUST have a solid hull that can fold. It does offer the advantage of not needing a trailer. If storage and not needing a trailer are your most important criteria than it may be a good choice. A used jon boat with an engine and trailer would be cheaper than the Portabote hull alone I would think. Bill Longyard "Marty S." wrote in message ...
