Default Wh invented the hose clamp?

While working on the engine, I was once again impressed by the Elegant
Simplicity of the lowly hose clamp. They just work. Anybody know who invented
them?

Uh, it depends on which TYPE of hose clamp. There are several, and
several different patents.
