I don't either myself. Don't care for it. Tends to pack down and
it's a bitch to cut close to the knot - not to mention cutting your
fingers once in a while.

I much prefer Ande line in the heavier monofilament.

Easier to tie also.

I don't use Fireline, either. I just can't seem to get used to it, too
many years fishing with mono, I guess.


I have not used Fireline in a couple of years. The last batch just seemed
to lose strength and started breaking on any sharp fish set. I use Power
Pro on my spectra set ups and it does very well. I use 50/12 on my salmon
trolling rods. The stuff will slice through a jelly fish and not get hung
up in them like the mono. for Rock Cod, the braids allow you to fell the
bite and get the fish away from the rocks and on the way to the frying pan.
