When I did look, it was at their knockoffs of Carolina Skiffs, and I thought the Polars were, in comparison, bottom of the barrel. Maybe they've improved over the years. Are we talking about the same boats? It's my understanding that they've only been making these boats for four - maybe five years. At the time I looked at them, they only made a 19, 21 and 23 CC plus the 20 bay boat. As to being Carolina Skiff knockoffs, I know Carolina Skiffs - these aren't Carolina Skiffs. :) I believe the company has or had a line of flat-bottomed skiffs similar to Carolina Skiffs. Single hull, rolled edges, spatter-paint finish interior. Anyway, this was some years ago, early 90s. Things may have changed. I talked to the Marketing Manager for Godfrey at the Norwalk In-water Boat Show a couple of years ago - she said these were new designs. I dunno. Later, Tom |
