Harry Krause wrote: I'm reminded of Lane Kirkland's comments on Walter Mondale. Kirkland, the former head of the AFL-CIO, was not a fan of Mondale. But when it became obvious Mondale was going to be the nominee, Kirkland said "We'll find things to admire about Mondale that even his mother didn't know." Yup, the typical insincerity of politics. How's the weather across the state? Most news outlets reporting unusually high turnout. Some weatherfolk are now downgrading the storm forecast. That's good. I always like to see high turnout. It means the voters are engaged. In the 2000 election in Wisconsin, high turnout simply meant that people were eager to get their free cartons of cigarettes for voting Democrat. |

"Harry Krause" wrote in message news:bv74l9 You might be interesting in knowing that Kerry is not nearly as liberal as the label the neocons are trying to lay over him. Don't try to dance to that music. Kerry's voting record for years has been a virtual duplicate of Kennedy's. Some folks here think Ted Kennedy is the conservative one. I bet TK doesn't hear that too often! |

yeah John, I know.
I have had stupid-bowl shoved up my asterisk unitl I am sick of it. Herr Mayor and cronies have raised taxes to rebuild the bold new sewer of the south to host the damn thing next year. Of course, a lot of the money found its way into Herr Mayor's (daddy's) oil, concrete, construction, and retail corporations. Nothing I can do abouot it though except put up with another 12 months of misery. Regards, Capt. Frank John Gaquin wrote: "Capt. Frank Hopkins" wrote in I think its going to be a l-o-n-g year.... The hatred of the Religious Right for President Jimmy Carter shows that they are neither religious nor right. Jimmy Carter is an outstanding example of Christian ethics and principles in action. There is nobody on the "religious" right who walks the walk like Carter does... and has, all his life. He may not have been a great President... IMHO the fiasco at Desert One has overshadowed a lot of his positive accomplishments... but he is a great man... and that _bothers_ them. Regards Doug King |
