Just to clarify, are you getting 18 mpg while towing your Jetcraft?

18 not towing. Towing I get 14-16. Depending on speed and hills. I have a
tendency to exceed the 55 mph speed limit while towing.

That's still pretty good. I've occasionally pondered moving to a diesel
pick-up for towing and the ability to add a camper.

I love the truck. I have a Palomino B-800 pop up camper on the truck Short
bed, crew cab, and the camper weighs about 1100#. With the camper and
towing I get about 13.9 according to the truck computer. The camper is
really nice, takes about 5 minutes to set up and only is about 8-10" above
the truck cab. Has a queen size bed over the cab. They make models for
long beds also.

Just returned from a trip to MEdford, OR. 800 miles and part of the trip at
85-90 last night in the Shasta-Cascade mountains and I averaged 17.9 mpg for
the trip. Coming back I had about 700# of new 5.7L MPI engine for the boat
settign in the bed of the truck.

I'll bet you're going to like that motor if it runs like mine. Who did
you get it from?

Bruce Wasson at Rogue Jet. Former owner of Jetcraft. Going in a 21' 1991
Jetcraft Bluewater. Is a Kodiak marinized motor. Nice thing is I am
pulling out a Ford 351W Kodiak engine and the electrical hookup requires me
to unplug the Ford and plug in the chevy motor. Same plug pattern for 14
years.
