Lighten up on ol' JimH. If this is the excuse he needs to modify

his
own behavior, who cares?

It is amazing how the tone of the group can change when a handful

of
people decide to modify behavior for better or for worse.

Jim's motivation may seem odd, but his efforts for 2-3 days now

are
commendable. They say it takes 21 days to kick a habit, so if the

more
civil tone prevails for another 16-18 there will be some chance

of
permanent change.

So I can't call any names for 21 days before the urge is gone?

Sounds
like
a
rough three weeks!

I wonder why Chuck saw my motivation as odd. It should be

perfectly
clear....to have a better NG.

Now if we could only get a buy in from Don, Chuck, bb, Krause, jps,

Doug
Kanter and dsk....I wonder if that is possible?

BTW: I guess I will be totally *cured* on March 24th. Perhaps I

should
start using the patch to help me out until then. ;-)

See? I knew Fritz wouldn't be able to stop the childish name calling.
Kudos to the rest of you, though. Hell, even JimH and I have had a
meaningful conversation. I DO hope Fritz sees the light, and starts
posting meaningful diatribes, but it doesn't look good so far.

Jim H accused (in response):

Do you see Don, Chuck, bb, Krause (well maybe grin), jps, Doug
Kanter and DSK calling names or launching threads denigrating some
party or another so all like-minded folks can get their licks in?

Yes.

*************************

OK. Time to put up or shut up. With the possible exception acknowledged
in my original statement, please direct our attention to:

"Don, Gould, bb, jps, Doug Kanter and DSK calling names or launching
threads denigrating some party or another so all like-minded folks can
get thier licks in".......

since you took the "pledge" that few righties endorsed, no lefties
sucked into, and that you now seem poised to break at any moment.

You won't mind if I *don't* hold my breath?

Thanks for the good laugh this morning Chuck.

****************

Are you aware that laughter is a common reaction when faced with an
embarrassing truth?

Name calling and personal attacks are down significantly, (as you
acknowledge at the beginning of this thread), since you aplogogized to
the NG and swore to modify your own behavior.

But, two days later you want to smear the usual group of people you
dislike with an accusation that all the moderates and liberals in the
group are calling names and launching threads denigrating some party or
another.....
when it has been almost entirely quiet. People are more often
disagreeing on issues or philosophies, not calling one another names
based on differences of opinion.

I haven't seen a single hillbilly wedding photo, or even one pig pile,
for several days from anybody.

Question: What dynamic of the NG changed to bring this about?

Why don't you just killfile him? Do you not recognize your participation?

How could he, he's never recognized he has his head up his ass.

As I said, that type of behavior is "down significantly".

Do you disagree?
