Is this approach safe?

Are there any other precautions I should take into consideration?

I use much the same system on my little Princecraft pond jumper
although I don't use a Pelican case - just a regular ole Wal-Mart
battery case. What I did do is permanently mount the power adapter
into the care and used a set of clamps instead of clips for the
battery posts.

I power a X-85 FF, RC-400 GPS and a trolling motor with this system -
works great.

I'm not sure how you would mount it in a kayak.

Later,

Tom
