Our local Grady-Parker dealer handles these...they are gorgeous,
beautifully finished boats.

They are very well-made. Designed by Dougherty (the guy who designed all of
those beautiful, classic Boston Whaler Outrages from the 80's and early
90's). He left Whaler in the early 90's and started Edgewater. He then
sold his stake in Edgewater and started Everglades. Boston Whaler's
Commercial Product Division still sells Dougherty-designed hulls as the 19',
22, 25, and 27' Guardian. They're used by law enforcement, fire dept's,
and military special-ops.

Our local dealer had a 24' Edgewater in downtown Naples last year when they
first released the boat. It was powered by a 225 four-stroke Yammie and
sold (with trailer) for just under $50k. It's the perfect dual-purpose boat
for these waters.

The rep told me that Dougherty has a 27' deep-vee offshore in the pipeline.
As a classic Whaler Outrage enthusiast, I'm *very* interested to see what
that 27' will look like. Hopefully it'll look like this:

Whaler used to have a 30' workboat with a cabin, really nice lines, that
was used as a patrol boat. It seemed to be an awesome boat

Are you talking about the Frontier? I know they made a 25 and 27, but I'm
not sure about the 30'. Here's a link to the Commercial and Gov't Products
Division:

The old Frontiers are renamed the "Challenger 25 and 27". The Vigilant 27'
is a similar boat:

I thought one of the more beautiful boats Boston Whaler ever designed
were the early '70s model Outrages.

A lot of folks think they are ugly, I think they are terrific looking.
If I could find one to restore, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Later,

Tom
