OT Union Humor

My position at work requires that I be a union member, which does not
please me too much. Our union rep was waking around today after a meeting
handing out some little tchotchkes, including a ballpoint pen with the
union logo on it. Like everything else the union buys, it is union made
and proudly emblazoned with the logo of the union who produced it. As I
was taking some notes, I noted that the pen would write a few inches then
stop, write a few more inches, then stop again. I don't think our union
rep was too happy when I commented, "This pen is just like the average
union worker. It only works half the time."

Can a manager of the union be a union member?

We will have to ask krause,,,

If we can trust that his answer will not be another one of his lies,,

He has belonged to unions his whole working career, he has bitten the hand
that has fed him his whole working career. He will know the answer.

Of course krause is a liar and his answers are all suspect.

I particularly will mention his lie of yesterday,,

lets have a look

""''''
'''''''''''I've never called Tuuu,,,,k's ISP.

Further, the standard way to file a complaint about "spoofing" is to
submit one of the offending posts with complete headers. Anyone who
looks at the headers of Tuuu,,,,k's posts will see the address of his
news posting server and the name of his ISP. Both are different from
mine. Tuuu,,,,k does spoof my online name ID.

And, further, there would be no reason for me to convince an ISP that
many of Tuuu,,,,k's posts *were* threatening towards me. His posts speak
for themselves.'''''''''

lol,,, krause,, point blank lie

Turns out you were trying to find out where I live,, lol,,, ouch,,, you were
trying to find out my name,, lol,, ,ha ha oooo my,,, krause,,, nice try,,,
but you failed again,, sound familiar?? Almost like marriage huh krause,,,,
almost like rearing children huh krause???
OOOOOpppps,,, Am I allowed to say that krause??? Did my IP provider say that
that was unacceptable??? lol,,

Only union jobs pay folks a decent wage? I guess somewhere close to 90% of
workers in the US are underpaid then.

And why is union membership declining?

I'm guessing your overpaid, whatever you do, union or not.

Because manufacturing is decling. No need for unions for the burger

The right wing whining makes people believe that unions are bad....
You do realize that before unions, working conditions were horrible,
kids as young as 7 or 8 were forced to work 14 hour days, or more?
There were no safety measures.

[email protected] February 9th 05 06:27 PM

And why is union membership declining?

Because manufacturing is decling. No need for unions for the burger
flippers that are the new manufacturing base.

*****************

And because many of the inequities and injustices of 100 years ago have
been corrected, by unions.

Even folks who despise unions and who, like most of us, work in
non-union shops, would be reluctant to give up the working conditions
achieved by union agitation, strike, sacrifice, and commitment over the
years. We take 40 hour weeks (with extra pay for overtime), sick leave,
paid vacation, paid holidays, health insurance, subsistence or better
retirement upon reaching "old age", etc for granted- but few of these
"perks" existed before unions pressured employers to make them a normal
part of compensation.

There are some corrupt unions and some unreasonable union demands, just
as there are some corrupt employers or those willing to make
unreasonable demands.

Collective bargaining gives the worker more negotiating power to try
and achieve an equitable deal from the employer. Just as employers form
"associations" to set/negotiate wages for an entire
industry.....(meaning, "no point quitting XYZ Widget to look for a
better deal at ABC, everybody pays the same low wage")........workers
need the ability to voluntarily form and/or join associations to
achieve a bit of leverage on their side of the negotiation.

A responsible employer offering a reasonable and competitive
compensation plan, a safe working environment, and other progressive
working conditions has little reason to fear that union organizers will
make much of an inroad in his shop.

Actually, my average annual raise has gone down since we
unionized. Before, raises were at management's discretion, and
performance was rewarded while slackers didn't get an extra dime. Now,
the union contract has a minimum and maximum annual raise, so the slackers
get their guaranteed 1.5% while people who bust their ass are capped at
4%.

As far as getting paid what I am worth, unionizing has forced me to make
some career decisions. My particular line of work is rather specialized
an only done by a handfull of companies around the world, so leaving to
work somewhere else is not really an option. I had hoped to stay within a
technical expert career track, but since I can make twice the salary by
taking a management track, it has become a preferred option. Prior to our
workplace unionizing, a technical expert an manager with equivalent
experience were paid comparable salaries, but the gap between them has
widened every year since unionizing.

I always enjoy you union folks defending your union.

Like krause,, a fine specimen, no integrity, unbelievable liar, nut bar in
his own mind.

But the damage he has done to the industries, jobs, future for the working
man is unknown to hit type.

Their defense is always something like,,,,,

"14 year old kids going to work without shoes"

"working 50 or 60 hour work weeks"

"flipping cheeseburgers"

Unless you really visit the industry in other countries, the work force, the
people, you cannot blame the people who want to work and are proud to work.
You union slobs have this attitude that you are worth so much, or worth more
than you are being paid, and then you perform your work to reflect that
ratio, meaning you produce less quality than 100%,,,, and you are over paid,
forcing inflation or the CPI costs of products for all consumers (non union
included) to pay way too much.

Good example, I had a suit cut for me here in the west when a fried died,
cost me over a thousand dollars, doesn't fit as I would like it, looks off
the shelf, like krause buys them. But I have suits made in the east, cost
about 30 bucks, better material, better stitching, better fit, better
looking, more durable and more practical, just far better work.

You union slobs like krause ruined it for the working man in America, you
ruined it for business, owners, builders, workers, you blaming it on the
kids or other cultures wanting to go to work, having to go to work doesn't
make what you did right,, maybe in your own mind but you are the one to
blame.

Then quit, go do something else, there will be someone willing to take

Our
union

handing out some little tchotchkes, including a ballpoint

pen
with
the
union logo on it. Like everything else the union buys, it

is
union

produced
it.
As I
was taking some notes, I noted that the pen would write a

few
inches
then
stop, write a few more inches, then stop again. I don't

think
our
union
rep was too happy when I commented, "This pen is just like

You should quit your job immediately if you don't like

unions.
You
could go work somewhere else for less money than you are

worth.

Only union jobs pay folks a decent wage?

Where did I say that? Learn to read, please.

I guess somewhere close to 90% of
workers in the US are underpaid then.

Hmm, I DO know that there are many, many people underpaid. Ask

them.

And why is union membership declining?

The right wing whining makes people believe that unions are

bad....
You do realize that before unions, working conditions were

horrible,
kids as young as 7 or 8 were forced to work 14 hour days, or

more?
There were no safety measures.

Given your expertise with the English language, this will not be a

Read this very slowly Bassy....very slowly....perhaps even have Harry read
it to you:

1. You said: Hmm, I DO know that there are many, many people underpaid.
Ask

2. I then said: OK, I will. Could you give me their names and phone

I will tell them that Kevin Noble told me to call and ask them if they are

Got it or should I have typed even slower for you?

JJJJJEEEEEZZZZZ, I've seen some ignorant responses here before...but I

Read this very slowly Bassy....very slowly....perhaps even have Harry read
it to you:

1. You said: Hmm, I DO know that there are many, many people
underpaid. Ask
them.

2. I then said: OK, I will. Could you give me their names and phone
numbers please?
I will tell them that Kevin Noble told me to call and ask them if they are
underpaid.

3. You then said: You don't know any union workers? Oh, and you can

Got it or should I have typed even slower for you?

You really are the King. Long live the King.

I don't think you could ever type it slow enough for asslicker to

I wonder if he stopped beating his wife?

Hmm, so I take it that you don't understand WHY I asked whether you
knew any union workers? Really? You honestly don't get it??
HEHE!!!!!!!!!! And you have the audacity to call me an

Yes, you are indeed an idiot....and a *Class A* one at that.

Perhaps it's YOU that suffers from FAS, please show where I said

union workers are, or aren't for that matter, underpaid.

So you must think they are overpaid. I agree.

Our
union

handing out some little tchotchkes, including a

ballpoint
pen
with
the
union logo on it. Like everything else the union

it

union
made
and proudly emblazoned with the logo of the union who

As I
was taking some notes, I noted that the pen would

don't
think
our

like
the
average
union worker. It only works half the time."

You should quit your job immediately if you don't like
unions.
You
could go work somewhere else for less money than you

are
worth.

Only union jobs pay folks a decent wage?

Where did I say that? Learn to read, please.

I guess somewhere close to 90% of
workers in the US are underpaid then.

Hmm, I DO know that there are many, many people

underpaid.
Ask
them.

OK, I will. Could you give me their names and a

You are truly ignorant, Fritz, I never said whether or not they are or
are not underpaid, or overpaid. You and Jim have serious comprehension
problems. Also, Fritz, did your wife send you a picture of her and her
new lover to you
for Valentines Day? I'm sure he's at least a real man, instead of a
slanderous, name calling, childish human.
