I was the head design administrator for that sub. The equipment I
recommended for install while in dry dock, would have prevented this
accident, but the company thought the cost was too high, and it was
passed over.

I then sold off all that stock, and it made for a tidy down payment,
on my 155' Donzi.

Most likely it was not a problem with the sub but with the submariners
operating it. Maybe a modern, high-tech submarine is too complicated
for Canadians to operate.

Me, I'll wait until the report is released next month before making any
conclusions.
