Default Heat Exchangers

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to maintain my heat exchangers? I know
they are in need of some maintenance and I would like to find some
instructions on how to clean them and with what, and replace the zincs.

Thanks

Houston

I replace the zinc's on mine about every 6 months. Probably could go a year
but why push it. For tube cleaning I unbolt the ends and use a gun cleaning
kit from Walmart. Clean them every few years or so. Also I change the
antifreeze every few years or so.

Take them to a radiator shop and have them boiled out and pressure tested.
You'll sleep better. Replace the pencil zinc (assuming you have one) when
it's half gone.
