Default Any experience with PowerTech Props?

Is one SS prop the same as another? Power tech prices seem pretty good.
Any brand preference? This will be going on a 21 ft. sterndrive.

TIA
Rich

A few years ago I and some others around here tried PowerTech's offshore
style props. Both of mine spun their hubs on the first offshore trip. They
other party's props spun while testing them in a lake.(unfortunately mine
spun way offshore). So I would be leery of them in high horse power
situations. What made things worse is that they bent me over pretty good on
the return and were not even the least bit apologetic. Left a bad taste. On
the other hand, prop people tell me the blade design is good and in
outboards where you can run a high drive height ( a bit difficult for you)
the large blade hooks up good. However, spun hubs sort of put that in the
theoretical category for me.
Finally, no all ss props are not the same. I am using Turbo brand props they
hold up well and make some props ideal for sterndrives. you may want to
price them for your boat.

Not all the same. Check ebay and find a good used Turbo or Merc (assuming
you have a merc outdrive). Stay away from Michigan Wheel - poor design.

Will I need a new hub kit or is the one on my Alum. prop interchangeable?

TIA
Rich

Prop will come w/ a hub in it chances are. If it is one of the new Merc
design then your current one will work.
