Default Albin 28 TE owners, Question

Looking for any Albin 28 TE owners .. I just bought a 1999 TE and woudl
like an explantion of how the two fuedl tanks work together. I know one
fills into the other, but the explanation I received from the owner is that
it not a "day tank" set up. I'm not sure of the larger tank fills into the
smaller one or vise-versa.. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Albin lists "extra tank with pump" as an option.

The pump is probably the key to the function of the second tank. See if your
pump isn't a two-way fuel transfer pump.
The small tank may be intended simply to enforce a reserve for those times when
a skipper might overestimate the vessel's range.

It's a 1999 , I called the factory and talked to them about it, according
to their records they did not install the second tank. I need to check
with the dealer to see what work they might have done on the boat before
delivering it. Since my last post I have figured out which tank is which on
the fuel gage. The reserve gage is not reading correctly, and the main
seems to be fine. I will let the main tank go down to a least the half way
mark and the see how the fuel tranfer works. Does yours have the extra
tank? I have the 300 HP Yanmar. Very happy with it so far. Boat does
17kts easily with it. At full throtlle about 22 kts.

Where abouts ar you located? I'm in Newark , CA on San Francisco Bay.

Go to www.coastsidefishingclub.com with some of the questions. It is the
NorCal fishing board and at least 1 and maybe 2 guys have Albins in San
Francisco and Halfmoon Bay.
