I think you've stumbled upon something that quite possibly we can all agree on. ====================================== No, it's colder than that. When I was a teenager I capsized in Lake Ontario about 3 weeks after the ice had gone out in the spring. Fortunately I hadn't gotten too far. It took almost a minute before I could take anything close to a full breath of air. After the 10 or 15 minutes it took me to get out, I could barely walk. It took over 2 hours in a warm room before I stopped shivering. It's not an experiment that I'd care to repeat at age 59+. Wayne Thanks for relating your experience. Gosh, right after ice out, the water had to be in the 30's. Gives me the shivers just to think about it. I guess it was really, really, really, really, really, really, really, cold. Regards John S I would rather be boating! |
