For the record, I didn't vote for President as it's a foregone
conclusion here in CT for one and I just couldn't bring myself to vote
for either of the two goons running. Voted for all the other offices
though.

Why didn't you support Ralph. After all, he warned us about the Corvair.

Let you in on a little secret - Nader couldn't be elected Dog Catcher
in his home town of Winstead. :)

And I had a Corvair in high school - I lived through it. :)

And it was a TURBO Corvair to boot.

Take care.

The upside is that '08 will have a clear slate from both parties who can
BOTH field better candidates. I'd kinda rather see a clear slate in '08 than
EIGHT years of Kerry who seems too "political" to be "real".

I'd welcome a clear and fair debate in '08...... as oppesed to another 10
years of "he said - she said"

Agreed.

Hopefully we'll get good candidates next time around, starting with no
incumbency. Cheney has already said he won't run, and is probably not
viable anyway due to health reasons even if he was to attempt to change
his mind.

They have already asked - I am not available in 2008 for any reason.

Although free air travel in Air Force One does have a certain allure.
:)

Take care.

You're probably right...better to vote for a boozing slacker.

You are an idiot Don.

Won fair and square Harry.... despite stuffing the tabulators in Ohio,
it wasn't enough - and Florida was won DECISIVELY.

Karl...I wouldn't take your word on change from a dollar.

Oh c'mon Harry.

The sKerry whine machine is out in full force this morning. He's down
135,000 votes, there are only 135,000 provisional ballots in Ohio, and he's
still not conceding.

Give me a break. KERRY LOST! Even assuming the provisions break 2:1 for
him (unlikely), he STILL loses. He'd had to win EVERY provisional and
EVERY absentee to win - it ain't gonna happen.

Crybaby 2000 all over again, but this time he not only lost, he lost
DECISIVELY.

Besides the loss in the White House, the Republicans won in BOTH the House
and Senate, including a CRUSHING blow in South Dakota with Daschle being
sent home.

It is entirely reasonable to conclude that the voters punished the Gore
whine-babys for their 2000 games and the last 4 years of their
obstructionism.

If Kerry plays this game he will DESTROY the Democratic party and in '06
there will be a 60-seat Senate Majority. THEN the Democrats are doomed.

But we KNEW he wouldn't accept the results of the election, didn't we?

With a Guiliani/Powell ticket in 2008 the future of the Dems is bleak.

I figured it out. Even with upwards of 250,000 provisionals (that's a
Kerry campaign number) Kerry would have to obtain at least 9 votes to
1 Bush vote to win. That's a raw vote number.

If the Kerry campaign number is correct, only about 40% of those 250K
provisional ballots are valid. That means that he still can't win as
he would have to win all 100K votes (based on 40% of the provisional
ballot total).

That's is highly improbable.

Personally, I think the President should be gracious and appoint
Senator Kerry Ambassador to France.

All the best,

Tom

No grace in defeat eh Harry?

Let's be honest here, shall we?

Bush got a majority of the popular vote. Clinton never managed that.

Bush's party kicked Daschle out of the Senate. Clinton never managed to do
anything like that at the ballot box.

The Republicans picked up BOTH senate and house seats. Again, Clinton
never managed any such thing.

The bottom line is that the Democrats lost - and lost BADLY. The people
have spoken. Send Michael Moore, Howard Dean and their brand of radical
stupidity HOME, and the Democrat party has a chance to regain relevance.

Keep up what you guys did this time, and next election the Republicans will
have a 60-seat Senate majority - then the Democrats may as well fold the
party entirely.

It has to do with my belief that
while you are a bright guy, you are slime. My reasons for feeling that
way are known to you and have nothing to do with your political party of
choice, although that is a symptom of your problem.

Yeah, yeah. Can't respond to the points on the table, so you launch
personal attacks.

What else is new?

Unfortunately he's correct here.... the backlash here in rec.boats is
symptomatic of the entire country. Angry, hatefull, whining, democrats
**can't** win. The party used to mean a lot more than "opposition". They
didn't adress the real issues this round - and God knows there were plenty
of good holes to attack from. The politics of insult and hate will always
fail. As was proven in SD.

How about Karl explains this right after you explain why your own

What did you do to their mother that caused your children essentially
disown you as their father?
