Default Compact diesel water/space heater ?

I' looking for a compact heater that can be used on a small boat to take
the chill off at night and also warm enough water to do some dishes. Any
such product out there ? It could be propane or kerosene if diesel is a
no-go.

Right now I use a camping stove but I'm looking for something more
convenient.

Thanks,

What size boat? I use a Poulan heater cooker for camping trips and sturgeon
fishing.

That thing is sweet! Been looking at regular propane ones, but they
didn't have the ability to flip and be used as a stove. How long do
the 1 lb. tanks last?

I have the Poulan that is no longer available if you do a search on Cabelas
site. 15K BTU and the bottle lasts a couple of hours under normal use. Hot
on high 100%.

These Wallas units are very popular in small cabin cruisers in the Pacific NW.

Double as a heater and a stove.

See http://66.161.146.46/index.htm for a tankless gas water heater. It turns
on and makes hot water as you need it. Very efficient!

Thanks for the two excellent suggestions. I hadn't seen either despite a
lot of Googling.

Thanks again,

In addition to the other suggestions, I also came across

http://www.scanmarineusa.com/Ardic952D.htm

which looks really interesting, but I have no idea what the price might
be. I assume the fuel and power consumptions are for full bore
operations so the average would be considerably lower.

I'm hoping to get a users manual or some other information which will
tell me if it is practical on a 23' pocket cruiser.

I had an Ardic (made by Volvo) diesel furnace in Far Cove for years -
nothing but problems! I'd avoid Ardic/Volvo at all costs. (I now have a
Dickinson heater - too big for your boat, but a Force 10 might be nice...)
