Harry has criticized Bush for just reading the headlines and not the stories...but the hypocrisy here is unbelievable. Did you watch any of Duelfer's testimony, Harry? Read any of the transcripts? Read any of the summaries in the actual report? It's 1500 pages long, and you summarize it a five words: "no weapons of mass destruction"? Sheesh...talk about intellectually lazy. Yeah, I thought it was especially pathetic when Senator Warner tossed pro-Bush softballs his way. But the most telling remark in the areas you're trying to bring to the forefront concerned Saddam and his posturing...he didn't have the WMDs, but he wanted Iran to think he did. Bush blew our credibility around the world. -- "...vice president (Cheney), I'm surprised to hear him talk about records. When he was one of 435 members of the United States House, he was one of 10 to vote against Head Start, one of four to vote against banning plastic weapons that can pass through metal detectors. He voted against the Department of Education. He voted against funding for Meals on Wheels for seniors. He voted against a holiday for Martin Luther King. He voted against a resolution calling for the release of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. It's amazing to hear him criticize either my record or John Kerry's." - Senator John Edwards, 10/05/04 |

Your guy won by 500 votes (?) An opportune time to bring back up the voter fraud that happened in Florida. The right likes to make jokes about the stupid voters in Palm Beach county, but thousands of black voters in other counties either were denied the right to vote, or had their vote thrown out. http://www.sptimes.com/2004/10/08/De...zes_blac.shtml "No county produced more spoiled ballots than Duval - nearly 27,000 - and they were concentrated in African-American neighborhoods. An estimated one in five black votes was tossed out in Duval, three times the rate of white votes." Little doubt this was pure fraud. Little doubt in was facilitated by Republicans with the approval of the presidents brother. Little doubt if these votes had been counted, Bush would not be the president. last time around, and thought it was a mandate to take the country ridiculously to the right. For me, that's the part that is the hardest to take. Mandate my ass, he didn't even win the election. bb |

I guess it was something the President said: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea...0021007-8.html The left should know better than to believe President Bush about anything. So can you point out the section of the speech where Bush said WMD were the only reason for us going in Chuck? Hell, no he can't! BushCo came up with completely different reasons several times! Here in lies the problem, Bush and his henchmen lied us into a war. I'm glad that you've realized that Bush changed his mind several times. |

In Duval, about 22,000 presidential ballots were uncounted because of double
votes and 5,000 because no presidential vote was recorded. That's the problem with a "punch card" ballot. Don't like the way somebody voted? Punch a second hole for a second candidate in the same race, after the voter leaves the building. Joila. No more "wrong" vote. To save time, you can even pass out ballots with the hole for GWB pre-punched. The votes of folks who intend to vote for GWB aren't efffected, they simply push the stylus through an already existing hole. The po' dumb folk who don't see the many advantages of a right wing reactionary in the WH? Thier votes for the wrong candidate are tossed out, "sorry, two holes punched for president." |

You reckon that's how Clinton got in, Chuck?
John H No, but I've always had a tough time believing that 27,000 people- all living in the same county in Florida- were dumb enough to vote twice for POTUS when there probably weren't 2700 people in the entire rest of the country combined who made the same mistake. Are Floridians just particularly stupid? And all the most especially stupid just happen to live in the same county? I think not. |

I guess there is no safe way of voting.
