Hi. I am winterizing a Mercruiser 2001 MX6.2L MPI engine with Cool Fuel.
First time winterizing a fuel injected engine. Book says I need to turn off
fuel supply, take out water sep fuel filter, poor 2-cycle oil into it,
reinstall fuel filter, and run engine until it stops.

Need to turn off the fuel pump to do this as there is no shut-off valve (why
do boat builders never put fuel shut off valves in boats anymore). There is
no breaker for the fuel pump. Anybody know a trick to turn off or disable
the fuel pump to get the job done?

Unplug it if it's electrical.

it wont run with the fuel pump unplugged, no fuel pressure = no fuel =
no run.
re read and understand a little better the procedure or just add
stabilizer to an accesory fuel tank with storage oil and connect that
to the engine where your existing line connects. run the engine on
this "pickle mix" until you are satisfied you have coated everything
then simply turn the engine off. definately stabilize the fuel in your
tank as well. good luck
