You could go upstream to northern New Mexico, where there is some good whitewater followed by touring runs. Or you could go downstream to Big Bend area, after the Rio Grande (AKA Rio Bravo del Norte) has been joined by some rivers flowing out of the Sonoran desert, and again has enough water to boat. http://www.nps.gov/bibe/riversb.htm I enjoyed Santa Elena Canyon and Boquillas Canyon, and have always wanted to boat Colorado Canyon and the Lower Canyons. |
