Default Boat Purchase Opinions

Glastron makes a good product. Regarding the volvo / Merc drive: The
volvo is less expensive to purchase initially. The Volvo's repair parts
cost a lot more. Both will give you good service if you take care of the
components.

Make sure the out drive is in good condition, water pumps are ok, and
bellows, hydraulics and gimbals are good. Insure the drive housing is
not corroded and all the shafts are straight. Get a professional marine
tech to survey the engine, steering and electrical. A lower unit will
cost upwards of $5000.00 if you need a new one installed. $2500 for a
rebuild.

You should have the manifolds and risers replaced before you use the
boat. ($600.)

I think the price is a little high on a 7 year old boat. (soon to be 8
years old.)
