Wow, Harry! Are you really so much smarter and better educated than the rest of us poor voters that you feel it's OK to refer to us as "Boobus Americanus"? There have been many studies that show conclusively that the majority of Americans have little interest in and knowledge of history, geography, math, science, current events, whatever. The two most popular sports in America are events in which the viewers hope the opponent's players are seriously injured or the drivers' cars crash and explode while turning left. We have as POTUS a man who is the epitome of intellectual laziness, a man who admits to not liking to read, a man with little curiosity, a man who can barely speak the native language, a man whose thinking abilities are at best hampered by years of substance abuse...and half the voters in this country think he's "the man." Yeah, Boobus Americanus is the correct phrase. -- We today have a president of the United States who looks like he is the son of Howdy Doody or Alfred E. Newman, who isn't smarter than either of them, who is arrogant about his ignorance, who is reckless and incompetent, and whose backers are turning the United States into a pariah. What, me worry? |

Of course, that fits right into the hands of the GOP... Ignorance is bliss, eh? -- We today have a president of the United States who looks like he is the son of Howdy Doody or Alfred E. This is a case of arrogance and pseudo- intellectual snobbery. Funny thing about it is they don't even realize they do it. Liberals often presume the intellectual high ground. It's a fault. Conservatives, on the other hand, more often adopt the moral posture that they are completely infallible, and so righteous that God is (only) on their side. When discovered in the midst of a mistake, it is always the fault of the nearest liberal. Intellectual snobbery from the more mentally adept vs. moral snubbery from the more self righteous and judgmentally religious. Darn, looks like nobody is without flaw. |

Most conservatives one encounters here seem to populate the moral low
ground. Not really. More conservatives consider themselves infallibly right and righteous. That's the conservative weakness. More liberals consider themselves intellectually superior and better read. That's the liberal weakness. Neither stereotype proves to be absolutely true, but notice that the "Bible belt" does tend to be red- while university professors, etc, are often criticized by the right for being too "liberal". |

Ahhh, thanks for alleviationg my confusion. Morality has nothing to do with that. More liberals consider themselves intellectually superior and better read. That's the liberal weakness. Is it? I would think it true. Indeed. Conservatives, of course, disdain the teaching profession. -- We today have a president of the United States who looks like he is the son of Howdy Doody or Alfred E. Yeah, Boobus Americanus is the correct phrase. Bush, a fellow who can't properly function on his own inner strength, resorted to excesses of cocaine and alcohol. After being threatened with divorce by his wife (read GIRLEY MAN), he switched to religion and thumping the bible. He still can't get it right and has only progressed to ****ing things up on a bigger scale with worse consequences. Boobus Americanus is the correct phrase for believers in him, Boobus A. being closely related to, and interchangable with, the always popular Bufo Americanus. |
