Yes, I know, it is Christmas week.* My buddy Craig and I planning a three or four day trip to Virginia Beach to fish the CBBT and perhaps head offshore, if the weather is willing. I'm building a list of charter boats active down there that week, and so far have more than a half dozen possibles. These are mostly 36'-45' boats, with a 28' Able tossed in for good measure. I know of one of the possible captains; he's active in the Deale area during more moderate weather. A day's charter runs about $600-$800, including a tip for the mate. Hotel rooms can be had for $30 a night. Really. We figure four more guys and the daily cost will be about $125 for what typically is very good fishing. The temps are...well...not like those you might find in South Florida that time of year. If you are interested, and you're not a weather-wussie, send me an email: I'll start up an "email-inform-list." Thanks. * This is a wife-approved trip. Ms. K will be out of state, visiting her aged grandmother during Christmas week. The sad lying grub only ever has "charter" boats, the lobster boat is clearly a charter boat & I suspect they won't ever have him on board again, so is the Parker & they'll figure his game soon enough also, he has never had a boat of his own. You're welcome to come, Karen. I'm sure we'll need to grind up some trash fish for chum, and you certainly qualify as trash fish. -- Email sent to is never read. |
