Moored/slipped in salt water? Trailered? Need more info like the
Capt said.

Overall, quickie inspection - look at the zincs, lower unit/outdrive
for strike damage/repair, look under the cowling/motor cover for
rust/corrosion, etc.

If you have a trailer, then take it to a good reputable marina
mechanic and have him/her look it over. Could save you a lot of time
and money.
