Mercruiser 3.0 >>> V-8 Conversion...

Is there anyone here who has done this - or can point to an internet
reference? Am looking at a Stingray 17 which seems severely
underpowered with the 3.0. Do the bellhousing patterns match? Are
there conversion kits / adaptors available?
