I think you have been hoodwinked.

Muriatic acid (IIRC, I am not a chemist by training) is industrial grade
(meaning not very pure) hydrocloric acid. Pretty strong stuff.


A closer inspection of the bottle indicates the crytals are a mix of oxalic and
some other acid, (sounds something like symchloric).
