Un-choloric acid?
 

I think you have been hoodwinked.

Muriatic acid (IIRC, I am not a chemist by training) is industrial grade
(meaning not very pure) hydrocloric acid. Pretty strong stuff.

Oxalic acid (sold as "wood bleach" in hardware stores, except some locals where
it is illegal) comes in crystals. Vinegar is also a decent acid to clean head
hoses, etc. Citric acid also works, kinda and can be purchased in crystal form
(including unflavored Kool-Aid in your grocery store.

Cheap vinegar is probably the easiest to use, but requires letting it sit for
some hours.

Time for a boil out of the 'Lectra San system before heading north.

The owner's manual says to run Muriatic acid through the system every so
often
to reduce the amount of "buildup" in the chambers.

Our local marine sanitation specialist gave me a jar of crystals to mix with
water in order to create "unchloroic" acid for this purpose, and recommended
it
over muriatic. Supposedly doesn't fume, etc etc.

Anybody know the chemical differences between uncholoric and other types of
acids?

I seem to remember studying a number of acids when I was in school back in
the
60's, but I should have paid more attention in chemistry class. :-)

A closer inspection of the bottle indicates the crytals are a mix of oxalic and
some other acid, (sounds something like symchloric).
